The Bethel united church was a youth centre in my day, circa 1950 and the building was called “the tickle belly”. To the left was Sterry’s butcher shop and to the right was Rilley’s chip shop.

Does anyone know why it was called The Tickle Belly?
By Dawn Pearman (22/01/2019)
Thanks for this memory Ronald. The Kelly’s street Directory of 1952 describes the building as the Tredworth Christian Community Centre. It’s between nos. 98 and 100 High Street. Does anyone have any photos of this building that they’d be willing to share on this site?
