  • Born in Derby Rd…….. Wonder if anyone remembers Duggans the cobblers shop, the Alington Hall, the sweet shop on the corner of Twiver St. Run by a family called Steers, Paul Steers being the son? Left Gloucester, to live in one of the Channel Isles. Next the chip shop, called Harry Coves. Some of the families,…Peter Francis, Hartin’s Tony, Brian, Janet. Sam Colley, Tyrrell’s, Parker’s, Webb’s,Wooton’s, Davies, Peter and Malcolm. Most of us went to Darby Rd infants, then on to Widden Street. I am talking of the 1952 period so not many may remember.
